Overview
A landslide between Lokpa and Chumling in Chumnubri-6 blocked the Budhi Gandaki, leading to debris-laden flooding downstream. NDRRMA reported five missing and large-scale evacuation/rescue. A statement attributed to the Prime Minister recorded 48 people rescued and 437 security personnel deployed; a later Army report increased the rescue count to 49. Bridges, telecommunications, power poles, homes and the hydropower construction site were damaged. Government geological investigation and Bailey bridge feasibility work are in progress. Follow current official instructions and do not enter unsafe riverbanks, roads or bridges.
