Overview
On 15 June 2021, extreme rainfall and cascading upstream hazards produced a destructive flood along the Melamchi and Indrawati rivers. ICIMOD, citing the initial NDRRMA assessment, reported 5 deaths, 20 people missing, 6 injured and 337 houses fully damaged. Roads, bridges, businesses, farmland and the Melamchi water-supply project were also heavily affected.
