Overview

On 31 March 2019 a severe convective storm produced a tornado across Bara and Parsa. A scientific study by Nepal's Department of Hydrology and Meteorology and The Small Earth Nepal reported 30 deaths, more than 1,150 injured people and more than 2,890 families left homeless. Homes, schools, industries, farms, water systems and electricity infrastructure were damaged.
