Overview

In August 2017, prolonged monsoon rainfall caused widespread flooding and landslides across Nepal. UNICEF reported 159 deaths, around 1.7 million people affected and more than 350,000 people temporarily displaced. Homes, schools, food stocks, water systems and livelihoods were heavily damaged across the Terai and other affected districts.
